STONESCAPE: Experience

STONESCAPE: Experience

£0.00

A gentle 3 hour beach-to-studio creative experience for 4 people.

In this 3-hour experience, I invite you to join me on Thurso Beach and in the cosy studio to explore the StoneScape process, build creative confidence, and make intuitive artworks inspired by Caithness stone.

We’ll start with grounding techniques, a texture treasure hunt and brief beach clean on Thurso Beach. From there, we’ll head back to the studio for a hot drink and experiment freely with playful mark-making techniques inspired by our time on the beach.

The Ripple Effect - this experience is built on the idea that small acts of care for people and place create lasting impact. Just as 400 million year old textures of stone still shape our world today, our small actions ripple out to others too. By joining, you're part of a brief beach clean and helping fund 10% of sales towards future places for those who might not otherwise be able to attend.

No art experience is needed and there is no finished piece goal; you can make, pause, watch or change direction at any time. With your permission, your photos taken on our ‘texture treasure hunt’ may be added to the StoneScape: Archive, and your group will be notified if they are used in a future artwork.

What to bring:

Aprons are provided but please wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring a waterproof jacket, hat and water resistant footwear to keep cosy and dry during our time on the beach.

Weather:

The outdoor element of StoneScape: Experience is important - we will go ahead if its a little cold, windy or wet - adapting activities to suit weather conditions. On warmer days, we’ll spend more time on the beach. Colder days will involve less time on the beach and more time in the cosy studio. If the weather is extreme or unsafe we will reschedule. If rescheduling isn’t possible, a voucher will be provided for you to rebook at a later date.

The Ripple Effect:

This experience is built on the idea that small acts of care for people and place create lasting impact. Just as 400 million year old textures of stone still shape our world today, our small actions ripple out to others too. By joining, you're part of a brief beach clean and helping fund 10% of sales towards future places for those who might not otherwise be able to attend.
