40 x 10" (102 x 25cm) Canvas Print
The origins of Thurso Castle are believed to date back to the 12th century when a fortress was founded by Norse Earls.
The stone tower we see today was built during the mid 17th century but was soon consumed by the erection of Sir Tollemache Sinclair’s Scottish Baronial mansion in the late 19th century.
Lasting less than a century, the castle was partly demolished in 1952 leaving no visible trace of the original Norse fortress.
